Roam at Home – TV Favourites.

TV. Sweet sweet TV. Thank you for everything. For the laughs, the tears, the company and the essential side-tracking.

It's safe to say we are all currently knee-deep. Many of us are yearning for light relief from those dismal 11am updates. It is for this reason, that I am only going to recommend feel-good shows. We need to be uplifted right now.

Call My Agent  - This is a charming French comedy centred around the agents and clients of ASK talent agency. One of the best aspects of this show is the A-list guest line up, who all play fictional versions of themselves. We get to see fabulous cameos from actors including Juliette Binoche, Monica Bellucci and Sigourney Weaver. Viewers get a birds eye view into the un-glamorous side of the entertainment industry and the endless effort the agents got to. Fan favourite, Herve is an agents assistant and is by far the funniest character in the show. He is simply adorable. Enjoy this little journey to Paris from the comfort of your couch.

Roam's favourite ep - Season 3, Episode 6.

Watch Call My Agent on Netflix.

Catastrophe - Created by the stars of the show, Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney, Catastrophe is a romantic comedy with clever, dry, deadpan humour. The premise of the show is, Irish Sharon meets American Rob in a bar, they have a one night stand and low and behold, she falls pregnant! There are countless cringe-able LOL moments, as Sharon and Rob navigate their relationship and new found parenthood. The fact that Rob saves Sharon's number in his phone as 'Sharon London Sex' until they are married with two kids, sets the tone for the hilarity of this show.

Roam's favourite ep - Season 2, Episode 2

Watch Catastrophe on Stan.

Gavin and Stacey - Quite possibly my favourite show ever. I am not sure I can capture the brilliance of it in this blog. Just watch it! This is the love story of Essex born Gavin and Stacey from Wales. Each and every character in the show give a stand out performance, in particular  Nessa (Ruth Jones) and Smithy (James Corden). Corden is the iconic British lad who constantly flirts with his besties Mum, 'Pamlaaaaa' and runs drunk bingo at the pub. Ex-truck driver, Nessa, works as a cashier at the local amusement park. She is completely offensive and blunt. Together these two are the stars of this side-splitting series. Hope you love it as much as I do.

Roam's favourite ep - Series 3, Episode 2

Watch Gavin and Stacey on STAN.

Schitts Creek - This ground-breaking Canadian masterpiece is hysterical and witty. You will fall madly in love with Johnny, Moira, David and Alexis Rose, as they transition from riches to rags. The stand out characters are Moira and David. Moira, is a fallen diva with a unique accent and exceptional wardrobe. Style icon David, is a flamboyant creative who is completely endearing. Their transition to a less glamorous life in the hick town of Schitts Creek is brilliant, as are the personalities they meet along the way. The most heartwarming aspect of this show is that father (Eugene Levy) and son (David Levy) have written the entire series together.

Roam's favourite ep - Season 4, Episode 9 .

Watch Schitts Creek on Netflix.

Starstruck - NZ born millennial Jesse has a drunken one night stand, only to realise when she wakes in the morning that 'Tom' is a MAJOR film star. This moment of realisation sets the tone for a superb romcom and standby for Jesse's one-liners. Jesse and Tom come from two very different worlds but somehow, they cannot give each other up.  The show has a Notting Hill-esque vibe, especially noted when Tom turns up unannounced to a dinner party at Jesse's house. The characters reactions are priceless.
With only six episodes you can totally binge this one.
